Kohlberg and Co LLC Funds Controller in MOUNT KISCO, New York

Kohlberg & Co., LLC, Mount Kisco, NY: Duties: * Serve on the finance and operations team led by Chief Operating Officer, responsible for overseeing the financial operations of investment funds, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective fund performance analysis. * Work closely with senior management, external auditors, and other departments to ensure the integrity of financial statements, monitor the funds portfolio, and provide strategic financial insights to stakeholders. Financial Reporting and Compliance: * Manage external Fund Administrators and oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the fund. * Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., Investment Company Accounting, US GAAP, SEC regulations) and best industry practices. * Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and address any audit queries. * Maintain accurate records of fund performance, assets, liabilities, and equity. Fund Operations: * Manage the day-to-day financial operations of the fund, including cash flow management, investor reporting, and reconciliations. * Prepare and review capital call notices, distributions, and fee calculations. * Monitor fund investments, ensuring accurate valuations and reporting in accordance with the fund's policies. * Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial transactions. Financial Analysis and Forecasting:. * Provide financial analysis on the performance of the funds investments, including portfolio performance, asset allocation, and risk exposure. * Develop financial forecasts and assist in strategic decision-making to optimize fund performance. * Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improving the financial performance of the fund. Investor Relations: * Prepare quarterly and annual investor reports, including performance summaries and financial statements. * Respond to investor queries related to financial matters, investment performance, and fund operations. * Assist in the preparation of fundraising materials and other communications for existing and potential investors. Internal Controls and Risk Management: * Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data. * Assess and mitigate risks related to financial operations and fund management. * Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and fund documentation. Liaise with other functional areas within the Firm, such as the investment teams, legal and tax compliance. Minimum requirements:-must have bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, or a related field-must have at least 36 months experience in accounting, financial management, or investment analysis, in private equity, hedge funds or asset management, both in public accounting or mix of both public and private accounting.-The required experience must include the following:(1) Managing financial reporting, compliance, fund operations, financial analysis and forecasting, investor relations within private equity and credit funds; (2) Working with US GAAP and Investment Company accounting;(3) Managing financial statements and audit processes, including with external Fund Administrators; (4) Working with Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint and Fund Accounting Software. (e.g., Entrilia, AllVue Systems, Investran)-Travel Details: Eligible to telecommute 1 day/week from a home office within normal community distance of the main office in Mount Kisco NY
