Pike Corporation Project Analyst in Mount Airy, North Carolina
Position Summary: The Project Analyst works closely with finance and operations to enhance project analysis and reporting capabilities and actively participates in the accounting close process. Duties include the preparation of revenue accruals, month end processing, revenue risk analysis, job cost analysis, assisting with audit, and process improvement as needed. The position offers visibility and interaction with management and opportunities for increasing levels of responsibility. Requirements include a willingness to learn, the ability to thrive in a team environment, a propensity to meet strict deadlines, strong initiative, and the ability to communicate effectively with various levels of the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
With limited supervision, the incumbent will:
Project Analysis including, but not limited to:
Fielding operations’ requests for financial information and analysis
Fielding external audit requests for reports, analysis, and support
Identifying the financial performance drivers for assigned divisions
Participating in the financial close process:
Assisting in the development and assessment of revenue estimates
Identifying risk to revenue and WIP and preparing appropriate reserves
Preparing standard reporting for distribution to operations
Preparing, reviewing, and processing cost and revenue accruals
Reviewing and processing fixed price contract budget updates
Contract rate testing and contract file organization
Work with operations and finance team members to resolve issues related to cost, revenue, and WIP
Other duties and tasks as assigned

RELATIONSHIP OUTSIDE WORK GROUP:
Influences decisions of moderate nature requiring high degree of tact.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Education
Required High school degree or GED.
Preferred Associates degree (AA or equivalent from two-year college or technical school), in Engineering Technology or related field.
Experience
5-7 Year(s) Experience in distribution/utility or related field.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
A. Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, operational procedures, etc.
B. Ability to write reports, Business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
C. Ability to effectively present information in one-on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret spread sheets.

REASONING ABILITY:

• Be well versed in the basic tenants of line construction and maintenance.
