Pike Corporation Maintenance Technician-MT in Mount Airy, North Carolina

Position Summary: Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting the Facilities Manager in the maintenance of facilities, including but not limited to buildings, HVAC, equipment, machinery, and grounds.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in planning budgets and scheduling facility modifications, including cost estimates.

  • Initiate planned facilities maintenance programs.

  • Assist in preventive maintenance of facility equipment.

  • Assist in services necessary with construction, remodeling and installation projects.

  • Assist with the installation and modification of building equipment and systems.

  • Review assigned work orders and partner with available systems to track completion.

  • Support energy management by ensuring all building systems are operating efficiently.

  • Inspect existing installations for compliance with building codes and safety regulations.

  • Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems. Exchange straightforward information in a clear, concise manner.

    Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum five years’ experience in facilities maintenance or related field.

  • Must possess a valid driver license

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing. The employee must frequently lift or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    Work Environment:

    Work is regularly performed in a combination of office and shop environments, and the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and noise. The employee may also be exposed to a variety of extreme outside weather conditions.
