SUMMARY: The Test Development Engineering Manager leads the team responsible for product validation and the migration of new products into manufacturing. This role requires extensive collaboration with Product Development and Manufacturing teams to ensure robust test strategies, high product quality, and efficient manufacturing processes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead test engineering team members, providing direction and mentorship. Manage and foster strong collaboration with Product Development and Manufacturing to ensure alignment and seamless execution. Plan, prioritize, and assign work, ensuring alignment of resources such as tools, equipment, and parts. Define product quality criteria and test metrics for NPI and sustaining activities from both customer and manufacturing perspectives. Collaborate with Product Development to establish hardware and software validation test plans. Lead standardization of test and inspection standards to ensure performance and reliability of PCBAs and electromechanical assemblies. Participate in design reviews and recommend improvements based on Design for Testability (DFT) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM). Support capacity planning by assessing test and manufacturing capability relative to projected product volumes. Drive the development of functional test equipment, test software, fixtures, and procedures for both new and existing products. Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with company quality standards Ensure timely completion of performance reviews and employee development plans. Adheres to MultiTech rules and policies and provide leadership through training and example. Perform other duties as assigned.
