Job Title: Field Technician / General Laborer

Job Description

The Field Technician / General Laborer travels to customer sites to cover and secure large stacks of hay bales using heavy tarps. This role involves demanding outdoor work in all weather conditions and requires strong physical stamina, reliability, and a commitment to safety. The position is highly physical, with repetitive lifting, climbing, pulling tarps, and working at heights as part of the daily routine.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer locations to cover and secure large stacks of hay bales with heavy tarps.

  • Lift, pull, and maneuver large tarps over hay stacks safely and efficiently.

  • Climb on and around stacked hay to position and secure tarps at various heights.

  • Work outdoors throughout the day in a variety of weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, and dust.

  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to reduce risk of injury while working at heights and around heavy materials.

  • Maintain a steady, reliable work pace during long days, especially during harvest and peak seasons.

  • Adapt to schedule changes driven by weather conditions and customer needs.

  • Drive between job sites as needed to complete daily assignments.

  • Support general labor tasks related to agriculture, construction, production, or similar environments as required.

  • Demonstrate dependable attendance and a strong work ethic to ensure consistent coverage for customer jobs.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor throughout the day, including repetitive lifting, pulling, and climbing.

  • Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, and dusty environments.

  • Capability to work safely at heights while climbing on and around stacked hay.

  • Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.

  • Comfort with physically demanding, high-intensity work for extended periods.

  • Ability to follow safety procedures and instructions consistently.

  • General labor experience in agriculture, construction, or production environments is beneficial.

  • Valid driver’s license preferred for traveling between job sites.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in agricultural, construction, or production work is a plus but not required.

  • Comfort working long hours, including early mornings, extended days, and weekends during peak seasons.

  • Willingness to work in a schedule driven by weather and customer demands.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a field crew in a fast-paced, physically intensive setting.

Work Environment

Work takes place outdoors in all types of weather, including rain, cold, heat, and dry, dusty conditions. The role involves moving from one hay stack to another throughout the day and driving between customer locations before performing physically demanding tasks on-site. The environment is fast-paced, highly physical, and hands-on, with most of the day spent on your feet lifting, pulling, climbing, and securing tarps over stacked hay. This is a field-based position with no desk or office work, suited to individuals who prefer active, outdoor labor in variable conditions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Moses Lake, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $20.50/hr.
