Professional Rank and Salary Range: Starting salary $55,000

The Role:

SUNY Morrisville is seeking a Human Resources Generalist within the department of Human Resources. The Human Resources Generalist will provide a critical role of the department and college by continuing our growth, recruitment efforts, and continuous improvement. This position reports to the Human Resources Director and works directly with all search committees for all positions across the campus and other locations. Qualified employee needs to have a dedication to diversity, inclusion and equity, be a self-starter, and be an active participant in improvement initiatives. This role needs to offer excellent customer service to employees and applicants, and in addition, have excellent verbal and communication skills.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee recruitment efforts for all positions

  • Assist hiring managers with the recruitment process lifecycle

  • Provide training to search committees of hiring and interview process

  • Reviews search committee recommendations

  • Target advertisement outlets

  • Manage the Civil Service hiring process

  • NYSTEP Administrator - CSEA positions

  • Pull clearance codes for CSEA positions

  • May assist with employee relations issues of discrimination for student and employees, as needed

  • Assist Ethics Officer with management of the Joint Commission on Public Ethics regulations

  • Coordinate with supervisors the term/temp hires and renewal

  • Cross-train with other office staff on duties to provide coverage

    Job Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field from an accredited program

  • Personnel Assistant 0-2 years of experience working within recruitment or related field, Personnel Associate 2+ years of experience working with recruitment or related field

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's Degree in related field from an accredited program

  • Experience in Higher Education

  • Experience with NYS and/SUNY

  • Knowledge of and experience with HRIS
