Job Duties

Work hours: 48 hours/week, Monday - Saturday, 8 hours/day, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Job Duties:

Walking fields for weed control (kidney beans, carrots, corn, etc.), maintain irrigation systems; operating equipment such as tractors, trucks, loaders for harvesting and transporting hay; operating kidney bean harvest equipment such as dump carts; operate and maintain irrigation systems; maintaining farm for weed control, tree trimming; apply manure to fields after harvest for fertilizer; driving farm vehicle; minor daily and incidental upkeep to equipment and worksite.

Employer may request but cannot require workers to work on their Sabbath. The nature of farm work may require workers to work after dark and possibly weekends depending on weather conditions. Hours offered may vary based on factors such as weather or other unpredictable variables that impact the farm’s operation. (as applicable and per the job description)

Minimum Education Required

None. No High School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum Experience Required

Minimum of 3 months recent experience required

Must have verifiable experience required for the job duties listed.

Must be able to lift at least 75 lbs.

Job will require exposure to extreme temperatures.

Extensive pushing and pulling is required.

Extensive walking or sitting is required.

Frequent stooping or bending over is required.

Repetitive movements are required.

All workers must have proper work authorization to be employed under any of the employer's job opportunities.

Once hired, worker may be required to take a drug test at no cost to the worker and be subject to the employer's drug free and alcohol-free workplace policy including testing protocols.

Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.

Additional Compensation

As required for all workers in Minnesota, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay.

Employer may, at the company's sole discretion, pay workers an hourly rate above the minimum required and/or offer a bonus, PTO, insurance, etc. to any seasonal worker employed pursuant to this job order depending on how many years of experience they have obtained by working for the employer or other factors such as work performance, skill, punctuality, licensing, training, prior work experience, etc.

Job Benefits

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts (Updated 03/24/2025). Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.

Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
