West Virginia University Teaching Assistant Professor/Teaching Instructor - Engineering Technology Progra in Morgantown, West Virginia

Description The Engineering Technology (ETEC) Program at West Virginia University invites applications and nominations for two positions at the Teaching Assistant Professor and Instructor level. These nine-month, non-tenure track faculty rank positions are eligible for promotion and merit raises and involves a level of effort of about 80% assigned to teaching and 20% assigned to departmental service. The teaching function involves classroom teaching of approximately 7 to 8 sections of Engineering Technology courses per academic year. The service element of the position involves serving on faculty committees, serving as liaison to other WVU units, and participating in planned student-related retention, recruitment, and outreach activities. Responsibilities include: Teaching courses to undergraduate students related to electronic circuits, PLC programming, robotics, manufacturing tools and processes, CAD, safety, and/or materials Coordinating courses and class projects Supervising student capstone projects Assisting in establishing industry contacts to support the ETEC program and students Assisting with and leading continual curriculum assessment and development Supporting retention and student success activities in and outside of the classroom, including supporting scheduled ETEC events and activities Mentoring and assisting undergraduate engineering technology students Representing the ETEC program and the College to prospective students and families, visitors, and other interested parties from within and outside of WVU, as well as at campus and outside events. Additionally, Teaching Assistant Professors and Instructors are encouraged to engage in and support limited engineering technology education research.
