Description The Department of Geology and Geography in the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a (Hybrid) Temporary Part-Time Research Technician. About the Opportunity This position will find scientific papers, compare the data in the paper to the data reported in a database, and recommend corrections or updates. What You'll Do Review scientific papers and quality control data Meet with supervisor and graduate student for training and updates Pay Grade: 10 Length of Assignment: Approximately 4 Months Work Hours: 10 hours per week Qualifications Associate degree in Earth and Environmental Science. 0-6 months working with scientific data in spreadsheets. Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered. All qualifications must be met by the time of employment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent use of Excel or Google Sheets Experience with detailed quality control of data Ability to work professionally and collaboratively
