Description The Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities (OSRR) at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for an Associate Director. About the Opportunity The Associate Director of OSRR supports the Director in overseeing office operations and adjudicating student conduct cases, including Rule 1.6, Title IX, and organizational misconduct. The role provides leadership in fraternity and sorority case adjudication, supervises staff, and manages key administrative, budgetary, and reporting functions. Additionally, the Associate Director advances conduct processes through oversight, collaboration, and the development of strategic initiatives and best practices. Wellness programs What You'll Do Adjudication and Case Management Assists in management and adjudication of Campus Student Code cases along with the Assistant Director and Director, depending on volume. All staff members are expected to carry a large case load depending on the type of cases and time of the year. Assists in management and adjudication of Rule 1.6, and Title IX cases along with Director, depending on volume. These cases are very detailed and complicated with multiple communications including phone calls, emails, etc. These case numbers are usually high in volume as well. Acts as a conduct officer in non-hearing level cases along with the Assistant Director and Director, depending on volume. Acts as a hearing officer in hearing-level cases, along with Director. Hearing-level case volume varies based on multiple factors. Hearings may take hours to prepare for appropriately. Assists with the proper reporting and coordination of alleged violations of the Campus. Student Code by working with Assistant Director and Office Manager to run appropriate reports on the Advocate system, attend Advocate trainings, consult with Director on desired data. Conducts research, interviews, and consults as related to assigned cases. Assures processes align with relevant OSRR, WVU, state, and federal law and guidelines. Assists students in finding appropriate resources to assist them during conduct, TIX, or 1.6 cases. Examples include Carruth Counseling Center, Office of Accessibility Services, access to the RACK, etc. Assisting students in their need for resources is vital to this process.
