Description The Department of Athletics at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for an Associate Director of Athletic Training for Football. About the Opportunity Serve as the primary liaison to Gatorade on behalf of athletics. Maintain budget, order products and coordinate shipping/receiving for all sports. Administer meetings with nutrition and strength staff to review product needs. Monitor all inventory needs at football, including sideline and facility set-up. Wellness programs What You'll Do Serve as the primary football liaison for all medical appointments including but not limited to cardiac referrals, orthopedic referrals, dental referrals, optometry referrals, and general medical appointments. Duties include, coordinating appointment with appropriate medical personnel and communicating about billing and funding option. Also, coordinator for subsequent diagnostic medical testing and referrals related to initial physician care- MRI's, CT's, any diagnostic imaging, oral surgery, orthodontics, vision exams. Etc. Serve as the primary contact with student Aetna insurance on claims as needed to ensure coverage or denial of coverage to them process through Mutual of Omaha Assist with procuring primary insurance information (if applicable) for incoming football student-athletes and ensuring they upload and submit documentation through the insurance opt-out portal if applicable Coordinate with the School of Medicine and CPASS on the implementation of any athletic training internships and/or residency program/student workers Assist with inventory management within the sports medicine department Assist with the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic-related injuries for football and/or other sports as assigned. Administer emergency care and make medical referrals. Maintain a system of injury records on appropriate student-athletes. Assist with the control and maintain therapeutic equipment in the athletic training room. Assist with a line of communication among parent, physician, student-athlete, and coach. Maintain the status of an Athletic Training Approved Clinical Instructor (ACI). Following are the requirements: a) become a Clinical Instructor Educator/Approved Clinical Instructor through the NATA Education Council and maintain this certification.
