Job Title: Concrete Laborer

$22+/hr Monday-Friday

Job Description

This role involves setting and finishing concrete wall forms for residential and commercial projects within a one-hour radius of Fargo. You will contribute to high-quality concrete work by preparing, pouring, and finishing concrete walls while working as part of a field crew. Transportation is provided to and from job sites, and crew members return home every night.

Responsibilities

  • Set, align, and secure wall forms for residential and commercial concrete projects.

  • Prepare work areas, including measuring, marking, and laying out forms according to project specifications and drawings.

  • Assist with mixing, pouring, and placing concrete to ensure proper coverage and structural integrity.

  • Perform concrete finishing using trowels, floats, edgers, and other finishing tools to achieve smooth and accurate surfaces.

  • Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently throughout all phases of the concrete process.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure correct dimensions and form placement.

  • Monitor concrete curing processes and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and durability.

  • Support equipment operation and basic maintenance related to concrete work as directed.

  • Work collaboratively with crew members and communicate effectively to coordinate tasks and meet project timelines.

  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working in outdoor environments and on active job sites.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools, forms, and materials at the job site.

  • Assist or step into crew lead duties when needed, helping to guide tasks and support less experienced team members.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience as a concrete laborer or in a similar concrete construction role.

  • Proficiency in concrete finishing, including skilled use of trowels, floats, and edgers.

  • Strong understanding of concrete mixing, pouring, placing, and curing processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to use hand tools and power tools commonly used in concrete work.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings related to concrete walls and forms.

  • Excellent attention to detail and precision to ensure accurate and high-quality finishes.

  • Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor and repetitive tasks for extended periods.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a crew.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience operating construction equipment used in concrete work.

  • Commercial driving experience or a CDL A license is beneficial.

  • Experience in a crew lead or team lead capacity on construction or concrete projects.

  • Familiarity with both residential and commercial concrete wall construction.

Work Environment

This is a field-based role working outdoors in the elements Monday through Friday during the construction season, typically from April until freezing conditions. Work takes place on active residential and commercial job sites within approximately one hour of Fargo. Transportation is provided to and from job sites, and crew members return home each night. The work involves physical, hands-on labor, frequent use of concrete finishing tools such as trowels, floats, and edgers, and operation of standard construction equipment in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Moorhead, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
