Your Role

As a Domain and CMS Architect, you will play a pivotal role within Radio-Canada’s Digital Media division. In this position, you will collaborate across various groups to make high-level architectural decisions that impact the daily work of hundreds of colleagues. You will join our CMS team — the engine behind the software used by journalists and content creators across all of Radio-Canada. Essentially, if content appears on our digital platforms, it was powered by the software this team develops! We are looking for an experienced leader to help increase our team’s delivery velocity and spearhead initiatives related to the use of artificial intelligence in the coming year.

Key Responsibilities of a Domain and CMS Architect

  • Help shape and evolve the long-term vision for the Domain and CMS ecosystem.

  • Align technology choices with the broader Digital Media strategy established by the technical producers.

  • Create and maintain architecture diagrams using the C4 model (https://c4model.com/) and a “Diagram as Code” approach.

  • Identify, evaluate and document integration methods for internal and external third-party services.

  • Work regularly with other architects and technical leads to ensure proposed architecture solutions factor in the needs and constraints of all involved teams.

  • Act as a key communicator, keeping architects, technical leads and Digital Media management informed of architectural developments within the Domain and CMS space.

  • Help define the CMS team’s road map in conjunction with other project leads involved in the initiative.

  • Identify emerging technologies on the market or propose custom-built solutions to address technical challenges.

  • Clearly articulate the “why” behind technical choices to ensure buy-in and smooth implementation across the organization.

  • Act as a subject matter expert during backlog refinement and demo sessions when required.

  • Consult with infrastructure (DevOps) managers to assess the cost and performance implications of proposed architectures.

  • Collaborate with CBC teams to identify opportunities for synergy and technical harmonization across the organization.

  • Contribute to the evolution of the Data Graph and the object models for our digital products.
