Build the Future with Us
Join WSP’s Transit Bus & Fleet team and play a hands‑on role in advancing EV charging and sustainable electrical infrastructure. As a Senior Electrical Designer, you will transform engineered concepts into high‑quality electrical drawings and studies that support the electrification of transit and fleet facilities across Canada.
Your Impact
Develop detailed electrical designs for medium‑ and low‑voltage distribution systems supporting EV charging and fleet infrastructure projects.
Prepare electrical drawings for conceptual designs developed by Professional Engineers, including MV/LV distribution, relay wiring schematics, networking, site layouts, and foundation details.
Produce CAD and Revit deliverables such as single‑line diagrams, panel schedules, communication diagrams, and material take‑offs.
Support electrical feasibility studies and sustainability‑driven designs, including EV charging systems and solar PV integration.
Perform power system analyses such as arc‑flash, harmonic, load‑flow, and coordination studies using industry‑standard software.
Prepare tender documentation and assist with bid analysis for equipment supply and installation.
Ensure quality, accuracy, and on‑time delivery of all design outputs while supporting multidisciplinary project teams.
Represent WSP in technical discussions with clients under the guidance of senior engineers.
The Skills That Set You Apart
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
5+ years of relevant electrical design and drafting experience.
Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT), Certified Electrical Technologist (CET), or equivalent professional designation.
Strong working knowledge of 600V and medium‑voltage electrical distribution systems.
Solid understanding of LV/MV control and protection philosophies.
Experience using ETAP, SKM, or similar power system analysis software.
Excellent knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and applicable local amendments.
Fluency in English; bilingualism in French is considered an asset.

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $77,400 – $102,500
MB & ON: $70,600 – $97,200
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $65,800 – $88,600
