Position: Forklift Operator Location: Montpelier, OH Company: Bryan Truck Line Employment Type: Full-Time 3rd Shift (10:00pm- 6:00am with potential for OT) Reports To: Cross-dock Manager

Job Summary:

Bryan Truck Line is seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Operator to join our team at our LTL (Less-than-Truckload) cross-dock facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a forklift's safe and efficient operation, handling inbound and outbound freight, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods across the dock. Attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment is a must.

Key Responsibilities:

• Load and Unload Freight: Safely load and unload freight from trucks using a forklift, ensuring all items are handled with care and stacked properly.
• Crossdock Operations: Transfer freight between trailers as required, ensuring accurate placement and adherence to shipping and receiving schedules.
• Inspect Freight: Check freight for damage, discrepancies, or any irregularities, and report them to the supervisor promptly.
• Maintain Equipment: Perform routine inspections and maintenance on the forklift, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and overall operational readiness. Report any mechanical issues immediately.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all company safety protocols, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe operating procedures.
• Inventory Management: Assist in tracking and managing inventory on the dock, logging items into the system as needed.
• Documentation: Accurately complete and maintain paperwork related to freight movement, including manifests, bills of lading (BOLs), and other required documentation.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other dock workers, dispatchers, and drivers to ensure timely and efficient cross-dock operations.
• Housekeeping: Keep the dock area clean and organized, ensuring that all aisles, exits, and emergency equipment are unobstructed.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Previous experience as a forklift operator in a crossdock, warehouse, or similar environment is preferred.
• Certification: Valid forklift operator certification is required. A valid Class A CDL is helpful but not required.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and good communication skills.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in varying temperatures.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with LTL freight operations and safety regulations is a plus.
• Other: 2nd Shift premium pay

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.60 - $22.63 per hour
