Project Manager II – Nuclear Facility Upgrades
Location: Monticello, MN and/or Prairie Island, MN

Lead High‑Impact Projects at Critical Nuclear Generating Facilities
We’re seeking an experienced Project Manager II to support long‑term capital upgrade programs at two of a major utility’s nuclear generating stations—Monticello and Prairie Island. This role offers hands‑on leadership of multimillion‑dollar nuclear projects, strong visibility with plant and utility leadership, and the opportunity to contribute directly to plant reliability, safety, and license life‑extension strategies.
This is a fully onsite, long‑term contract with per diem available, ideal for a seasoned project manager who thrives in a structured, safety‑focused nuclear environment.
What You’ll Do
Lead capital projects from scoping and planning through execution and closeout, managing scope, schedule, and budget
Own project delivery for $1M+ capital investments, ensuring alignment with plant priorities and regulatory requirements
Partner closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and Supply Chain teams
Develop cost estimates, manage vendor contracts, and lead weekly project status meetings
Track project costs, risks, and schedules using SAP, Primavera (P6), and MS Project
Support capital authorization packages and internal approval processes
Perform plant walkdowns and field observations, ensuring work is executed safely and as designed
Provide timely communication and reporting to plant leadership and stakeholders
Required Qualifications
5–7 years of end‑to‑end project management experience
Proven experience managing capital projects valued at $1M or greater
Strong working knowledge of SAP, Primavera P6, and MS Project
Prior experience in nuclear or highly regulated industrial environments strongly preferred
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background preferred
Ability to work fully onsite and support outage schedules as needed
Preferred Experience & Credentials
PMP certification
Degree from an ABET‑accredited program
Finance, cost control, or budgeting experience
SRO certification or license
Work Environment

Combination of desk‑based project work and onsite field/plant observation
Standard weekday hours for most of the year
60+ hours per week during outage periods, with corresponding compensation

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $65.00/hr.
