Certified Maintenance Worker
Under general supervision, performs skilled and semi-skilled work in the maintenance, repair, and operation of the municipal water distribution and natural gas systems. Ensures safe, reliable delivery of water and gas services to residents and businesses while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.
Must have knowledge of water distribution and natural gas systems, ability to detect leaks and diagnose system issues, ability to operate heavy equipment safely.Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, ability to lift up to 75 pounds, ability to respond to emergency calls at any time.
Responsible for the Installation, repair and maintain water lines, valves, hydrants and meters,locate and repair water leaks, perform water line taps and service connections, flush hydrants and maintain distribution lines, assist with water quality samplings as required by regulatory agencies
Maintain accurate records of repairs, meter readings and inspections, respond to emergency water outages and service disruptions, Install, Inspect and repair natural gas lines and meters, conduct leak detection surveys and respond to gas leak emergencies, perform pressure checks and maintain system integrity, new installation, ensure compliance and maintain proper documentation of inspections
