Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Location: Wellspring Skilled Nursing & Rehab - Monroe Reports to: CNA Supervisor / Director of Nursing (DON) Position Type: Full-time | Hourly
Wellspring is a statewide nonprofit dedicated to serving seniors, families and children throughout Michigan. We are currently seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join Monroe Skilled Nursing and Rehab team. In this position, you'll be directly supporting your community in Monroe County.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct resident care, including assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, feeding, toileting, colostomy care, ambulation, transferring, and range-of-motion support.
- Follow individualized care plans, reporting observations and changes in residents' conditions to nursing staff.
- Ensure residents' dignity, privacy, and comfort are prioritized in all aspects of care.
- Support residents' rights, reporting any concerns of abuse, neglect, or restraint use immediately.
- Protect residents' personal belongings and assist in locating lost items.
- Promote skin integrity by preventing pressure ulcers, turning and repositioning residents, and applying skin care as directed.
- Respond promptly and courteously to call lights and resident needs.
- Assist with vital signs, weight checks, specimen collection, and application of creams/ointments.
- Accurately complete CNA documentation according to policy.
- Follow infection control and safety procedures, including proper hand hygiene, glove use, and disposal of soiled materials.
- Welcome and orient new residents and families to the facility.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant license in the State of Michigan required.
- Minimum of 6 months CNA experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to compassionate care.
Schedule and Compensation
- *Employment Type: *Full-time
- *Schedule: *Day Shift (4:00 am - 4:30 pm) or Night Shift (4:00 pm - 4:30 am)
- *Weekends: *Every other weekend rotation required
- Pay Rate: $21.40--$24.40/hour based on licensure
- Shift differentials: $3.00 per hour for Night Shift
