Boiler Operator/HVAC Technician
Job Summary: Monroe Public Schools is seeking a qualified Boiler Operator/HVAC Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of boiler systems and HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems across district facilities. The ideal candidate will ensure safe, efficient, and effective operation of these systems while supporting a comfortable and functional learning environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate, monitor, and maintain boilers, HVAC systems, and related equipment to ensure safe and efficient performance.
- Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on boiler systems, furnaces, air conditioners, ventilation systems, and related mechanical equipment.
- Troubleshoot malfunctions in heating and cooling systems, diagnosing and resolving operational issues.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on HVAC and boiler equipment to minimize breakdowns and extend equipment life.
- Adjust controls to regulate temperature, humidity, and airflow in district buildings for occupant comfort.
- Monitor system performance and document readings, completing logs and reports as required.
- Perform safety checks and ensure compliance with all applicable building codes, safety standards, and district policies.
- Identify and recommend system upgrades or improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate with maintenance staff, contractors, and vendors as needed to complete projects and repairs.
- Assist with other building maintenance duties, including emergency responses as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid Boiler Operator License (if applicable).
