About this Job
The mission of the Louisiana Veterans Homes is to primarily serve the veteran population of Louisiana through the provision of medical, restorative, and rehabilitative services in an atmosphere of respect and compassion. The primary objective of the home is to provide quality nursing care to eligible veterans with the ultimate goal of returning the veterans to the highest possible levels of physical and mental capacity.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionateCustodian/Housekeeper Supervisor A t o supervise a custodial work unit in order to maintain the cleanliness, sanitary conditions, and appearance of state buildings, facilities, institutions.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of experience in custodial, housekeeping, groundskeeping, or food service work.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
In the Custodian Supervisor A role, you will:
Assist in orientation of new employees, work schedules, and making work assignments and keep floors waxed and polished at all times.
Clean assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and polishing.
Direct supervisory responsibility includes daily supervision of subordinate activities, as well as approving leave and formally evaluating performance.
Supervise and inspect custodial work performed by subordinates. Ensures subordinates follow safety protocols, such as using caution signs, wearing protective gear, etc.
Schedule work and assign daily cleaning duties to subordinates.
Issue cleaning supplies and equipment to subordinates. Orders supplies as needed and ensures equipment is properly maintained.
Inventory supplies and equipment on a periodic basis.
Oversee usage and safekeeping of keys.

Appointment Type: P robational or Promotional
Compensation: This position includes a premium pay of $2.00 per hour for each hour physically worked.
Location: Housekeeping Department of the Northeast LA Veterans Home in Monroe, Louisiana
