ACNR River Towing Inc. Deckhand in Monessen, Pennsylvania
SUMMARY This position is responsible for all daily operations of barges and vessels. The selected employee would report to Monessen, PA then be shuttled to our vessels. We are seeking hard working, motivated individuals. If you are interested in pursuing a career with great potential, we want you!
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Adhere to all company policies • Follow company's safety guidelines • Making and delivering the tow • Checking the fleet (lines, cables, hatches, and water) • Retrieving and placing lanterns • Performing pre-operational checks • Cleaning the vessel • General maintenance of pumps/hoses, wires, and lanterns • Perform general repairs as needed • Follow directions • Be able to visually inspect • Work around operating equipment • Utilize eye/hand coordination • Use/knowledge of hand tools • Work well in a team environment • Operate machinery • Make decisions in high pressure situation, safely
Experience • No experience required Job Requirements • Must be at least 18 years old • High School Diploma or GED, preferred • Reliable transportation • Regular and punctual attendance • Effective communication is required • Work Safely • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), required • Must be able to work safely and effectively as part of a team or independently • Must be able to successfully pass a post offer drug test and background check
