Sobeys Operations - Specialist Macro Space (1 year contract) in Moncton, New Brunswick

In this role, you will support in enhancing our store layouts and optimizing space productivity. You will be responsible for turning data insights into space recommendations, supporting store renovations and expansions, and ensuring layouts reflect both business strategy and local community demand. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a passion for improving the customer experience through innovative macro space planning.

Here is where you will be focusing:

  • Foster a store-first culture of support.

  • Ensure prompt and effective communication within agreed upon service timelines.

  • Support the implementation and optimization of macro space planning software and macro space planning process and procedures.

  • Partner with Design and operations to ensure store drawings and floorplans are accurately and up to date, driving consistency across banners.

  • Analyze sales data using internal and external data systems including BW, SAP, SAS, Nielsen and IRI and make macro space allocation recommendations to Improve space productivity.

  • Collaborate with Merchandising, Design, Customer Experience, Operations and Micro Space Planning to deliver aligned, executable macro space solutions that addresses the needs of all key stakeholders.

  • Manage inquiries related to macro space from banner network, operations, category management and supplier partners, ensuring changes follow proper approval channels.

  • Enhance customer experience through development of macro space layouts to accommodate in-store innovation and other strategic projects.

  • Maintain knowledge of current industry trends, competitor practices, and evolving customer expectations in grocery retail.

What you have to offer:

  • Proficiency in Office 365 suite, with advanced Excel skills.

  • Working knowledge of Blue Yonder (or JDA Macro Space) or similar tools is an asset.

  • Previous experience in the retail grocery industry or space planning is advantageous.

  • Strong analytical skills coupled with project experience in balancing multiple priorities and deliver within timelines.

  • Initiative-taking individual comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
