CBRE CAD Designer Senior Team Lead A&E in Charleston, South Carolina
About the Role:
As a CBRE CAD Sr. Designer Team Lead, you will design and prepare complex electronic working plans, maps, and drawings for successful implementation of autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicles throughout multiple data centers.
This position is part of a multi-disciplinary team creating engineering documentation and design drawing packages.
This job is part of the Design function. They are responsible for preparing and producing proposals and planning applications for internal and external partners.
This position will work on-site in Goose Creek, SC.
What You’ll Do:
● Prepare prints of various original plans and records for internal and external agency use. Review updated various drawings for changes, utilizing computer-aided drafting techniques.
● CAD Operator requirements may vary according to Client-determined assignments, but most content relates to gathering existing site conditions and generating path layouts for industrial AGV (Autonomous Guided Vehicle) equipment and systems in the robotics portfolio at the Client's data centers.
● Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.
● Own and continuously improve CAD processes new ideas and innovations for tackling complex problems.
● Gather data to complete complex drawings by visiting the site directly. Perform repetitive field measurement tasks for long durations such as bending, kneeling, squatting, walking, climbing stairs, etc.
● Coordinate the CAD design for Navigation Tape and GeoMarker installation package:
○ Installation Drawings
○ Navigation Design Layout
○ GeoMarker datum development
○ Material Takeoff
● Quickly and efficiently collect existing site conditions and field observations to provide accurate redlines to revise/edit design drawing packages.
● Conduct pre/post installation audits of 3rd party navigation and datum field installation team
● Revise/Edit CAD packages and Lucidchart Navigation Graphs as needed from field audits or engineering changes.
● Verify that the development of maps and drawings that are spatially accurate and technically correct.
● Subject matter expert for internal and external partners to obtain details of projects, including equipment, materials, and codes.
● Review on-site information entered into the database to ensure current building conditions and data are accurate.
● Promote organizational capabilities and identify sale opportunities to potential clients.
● Competent in Autodesk Software - CAD BIM Solidworks BIM360 etc.
● Knowledge of Best Management Practices CAD/BIM environment.
● Manage shifting priorities and design production to coordinate with field installation schedules.
● Document and manage risks, issues, actions and decisions that affect deliverables.
● Provide field support quickly and efficiently and quality control to the client engineering team during automation validation by updating navigation design drawings and graphs.
● Apply general knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish assigned tasks and solve routine problems.
● Have a broad knowledge of your own job discipline and some knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
● Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations both orally and in writing.
● Ability to be effective both when working independently and as part of a team
● Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. May convince to reach an agreement.
● Work primarily within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.

What You’ll Need:
● Bachelor's Degree preferred with 2-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
● Bachelor’s degree in architecture preferred.
● Strong understanding of Architectural Engineering principals is preferred.
● Professional experience using Autodesk Software - CAD BIM Solidworks BIM360 etc is preferred.
● Knowledge of Best Management Practices CAD/BIM environment is preferred.
● Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
● Willingness to work toward gaining a clear understanding of product requirements by reviewing, understanding, interpreting and revising technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, mockups, and prototypes is preferred.
● Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
● In-depth knowledge of the Google Suite - G Docs, G Sheets, Slides, G Drive preferred. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
● Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
