PRIVATE INDUSTRY COUNCIL WESTMD(GB) Early Head Start Instructor in Monaca, Pennsylvania
The Early Head Start Instructor nurtures and educates infants and toddlers in a supportive classroom environment while helping ensure families receive comprehensive services that promote healthy development and school readiness. This role blends high-quality early childhood instruction with family engagement, collaboration, and community partnership. You'll play a critical role in fostering social-emotional growth, developmental progress, and a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
What You'll Do:
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate classroom activities that support children's growth across all learning domains.
- Observe, assess, and document children's progress, sharing results with parents and staff.
- Support children with special needs and participate in IEP meetings.
- Promote health, nutrition, and safety practices within the classroom and during mealtimes.
- Conduct home visits and conferences to engage families in their child's learning.
- Collaborate with team members, volunteers, and community partners to enhance learning opportunities.
- Assist families with referrals, resources, and crisis intervention when needed.
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Head Start performance standards.
What You Bring:
- Education: Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Early Childhood Education OR a Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Degree and coursework equivalent to a major relating to Early Childhood Education with a focus on infant and toddler development OR an Infant Toddler CDA.
- Experience: Preferred one (1) year classroom experience with infants/toddlers. Knowledge of social service agencies in Beaver County desirable.

- Education: Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education OR a major relating to Early Childhood Education with a focus on infant and toddler development OR an Infant Toddler CDA.
- Experience: Must be a current PIC Head Start Instructor Aide with at least 18 months' experience with PIC and at least 6 months experience substituting as an Instructor in PIC Head Start.
- Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and community social service agencies.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, adapt to change, and problem-solve effectively.
Familiarity with classroom tools and technology (computer, copier, audio/visual equipment).
