Mona City Full Time Water System and Roads Operator in MONA, Utah
General Purpose -- The Culinary Water System and Roads Operator ("Operator") is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and oversight of Mona City's Culinary Water System ("System") and municipal roadways. This includes the monitoring, repair, and upkeep of all components of the System. The Operator is also responsible for general upkeep of Mona City roads, along with other municipal maintenance duties as assigned and will coordinate with the Mayor, City Council and others to accomplish activities related to these and other assigned responsibilities.
Duties of this Position -- The Requirements and Duties of this position are as described below. Applicants must demonstrate how they can currently fulfill these Requirements and Duties or how they will be able to fulfill them as quickly as possible upon being hired.
1. Have a knowledge of water (particularly culinary) systems and how they function or become familiar with the Mona City Culinary Water systems.
2. Become a Certified Water System Operator within 4 months of accepting this position.
3. Have a general knowledge about irrigation systems and how they function in relation to our city system.
4. Maintains certifications necessary to fully maintain the Culinary Water systems.
5. Performs all sampling and testing work as required by the State of Utah and other administrative entities.
6. Keeps records and other appropriate documentation for administrative and maintenance purposes.
7. Must have basic machinery operation, maintenance and safety protocol skills.
8. Must be able to perform physical maintenance, be able to push and pull 75 lbs. This position may be subject to outdoor weather conditions including heat, cold, precipitation, etc., as well as exposure to dust, fumes, and dirty conditions, and may require the employee to stand, walk, or engage in other physical activity for extended periods of time.
9. Must have a current Utah state driver license. Must be willing and able to obtain a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) within 3 months.
10. Must submit to drug testing.
Compensation/Benefits - The chosen applicant will be a full-time employee of Mona City and receive benefits commensurate with other Mona City employees, including [health, retirement (URS), etc.]. The applicant will be paid on an hourly basis, with pay depending on qualifications, experience, and ability.
