As a Field Service Technician , you play a crucial hands‑on role ensuring that pumping systems, diesel‑driven units, electrical controls, and wastewater solutions operate safely and reliably.
Your troubleshooting skills, mechanical expertise, and professionalism help customers maintain uptime, navigate emergencies, and keep essential water and wastewater systems running.
This isn’t a routine job — it’s meaningful, technical work where your contribution has real‑world impact.
?️ What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll support customers and Xylem operations through high‑quality service work, including:
? Troubleshoot diesel engines, electrical systems, pumps, and support equipment.
? Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and servicing on Godwin fleet equipment between rentals.
?️ Rebuild diesel engines and pump ends when required.
? Assist customers or coworkers with setting up pumping systems on job sites, including wastewater applications.
? Support start‑ups and resolve any issues identified during commissioning.
? Conduct initial damage inspections on returned fleet equipment and report findings to the Service Manager.
? Operate and maintain service trucks, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial equipment as needed.
? Participate in emergency call‑outs and support customers with urgent needs.
Whether in the shop, in the field, or over the phone, you’ll be a trusted technical expert for our customers.

Location: Mokena, Illinois
Work style: Mix of shop work, field service, and customer‑site support
Equipment: Godwin pumps, diesel units, electrical panels, wastewater systems
Training: CDL upgrade support + product‑specific training provided

The estimated salary range for this position is $28 to $32/hour. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills and experience.

Experience with mechanics, electrical systems, pumps, or industrial equipment
Basic understanding of schematics and wiring diagrams
Ability to work independently and troubleshoot on the spot
Valid driver’s license (CDL support available)
Ability to lift, operate, and maintain service tools and equipment
Customer‑focused attitude with strong communication skills
