? Why This Role Matters
As a Field Service Technician , you play a vital role in maintaining and repairing critical pumping and wastewater‑handling equipment that customers rely on every day. This isn’t just equipment maintenance — it’s work that protects communities and supports essential water and wastewater operations.
You’ll work independently, problem‑solve on the spot, and take pride in being the expert customers trust.
?️ What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll service, troubleshoot, and support a variety of Xylem equipment — both in our shop and at customer sites:
? Diagnose and repair pumps, diesel engines, electrical systems, control panels, and wastewater pumping units .
? Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and testing to ensure equipment is job‑ready between rentals.
? Assist customers with setup and installation of pumping systems — including wastewater bypass systems — on job sites.
? Use computerized diagnostic tools to evaluate performance and identify issues.
? Inspect returned equipment, identify damage, and report findings to the Service Manager.
? Participate in a weekly on‑call rotation for after‑hours service needs.
You’ll regularly work with wastewater pumps, bypass systems, and field environments — supporting municipal, industrial, and construction applications.

Location: Mokena, Illinois
Travel: Local/regional to customer sites
Work mix: In‑shop + in‑field
On‑call rotation: Required, supporting after‑hours emergencies
? What We Offer:
The estimated salary range for this position is $28 to $32/hour. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills and experience.

? What You Bring
Experience in diesel, electrical, mechanical, industrial, or pump troubleshooting
Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics
Valid driver’s license (CDL training provided if needed)
Comfort working outdoors and traveling locally
Experience with wastewater equipment (preferred but not required — we train!)
