Summary:
Greentech Renewables is looking for a Commercial Project Manager to join their growing commercial team! This person will take ownership of commercial accounts, working closely with customers and coordinating support from various shared services teams such as engineering, finance, and purchasing to ensure stellar execution of supply channel management and project deployment.
The Project Manager will originate, develop, and close profitable commercial solar opportunities while helping establish scalable processes, trusted vendor relationships, and a durable commercial customer base. Anyone can provide quotes & process orders; we are here to eliminate uncertainty, and maintain accurate project schedules. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, organized, and highly attentive to detail. Candidates should be driven and self-sufficient, all while presenting themselves and Greentech in a polished, professional manner.
Training for this role will be in person.
Reports to: Profit Center Manager
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical or solar engineering or project management OR actual solar construction experience or journeyman electrician with solar and design experience
Knowledge of electrical and building code affiliated with solar design & installations
Excellent solar product knowledge

Preferred Qualifications:
NABCEP Certification(s) are a plus
Experience with commercial energy storage
Experience with Helioscope, Aurora, Solargraf, Sighten, Solo or similar preliminary design software
Experience with solar project payout structures, SREC’s, tax credits
Working Conditions:
Independent work on a small team, with multiple monthly on site check-ins.
- Work standard business hours of 8am to 5pm cst
Travel to a Greentech or customer location at least once per week
Training will be done in person on site but is not required once general workflow competencies are in place
Business Development & Sales
Develop and manage a pipeline of commercial solar opportunities
Target EPCs, developers, and mid-tier commercial PPA providers
Proactively source leads through:
Existing Rolodex
Cold outreach
Partner referrals
Industry events and conventions
Understand and navigate developer payout structures and commercial contracting norms
Project & Account Execution
Quote projects and coordinate pricing strategies
Redline contracts in collaboration with internal stakeholders
Ensure projects move cleanly from sale → payment → delivery
Maintain customer relationships through successful deployments to drive repeat business
Value-Added Selling
Position and sell enhanced services, including:
Engineering
Financing
Logistics and kitting
Communicate vendor differentiation, geopolitical risk considerations, and compliance implications
Systems & Process Discipline
Maintain accurate opportunity tracking in Salesforce
Manage job execution touchpoints in CedNet
Partner with inside support for administrative execution while retaining deal ownership
Cross-Functional Influence
Serve as a commercial advocate for shared services (engineering, analytics, design)
Help identify process improvements that increase efficiency and margin
Collaborate with residential sales teams where commercial overlap exists

Compensation Range:
The compensation range for this position is $80000 to $500000 annually.
