About the role

As a Secure AI Architect, you will make an impact by helping organizations confidently adopt AI through secure, compliant, and well-governed foundations. This role focuses on short, high-impact consulting engagements—typically 1–2 days—where you will bridge security architecture, compliance, data governance, and responsible AI within Microsoft’s cloud and AI ecosystem.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead customer workshops to assess AI readiness across identity, data protection, governance, and compliance

  • Define and articulate AI governance frameworks covering policy, access controls, data protection, and risk management

  • Translate security and compliance capabilities into actionable technical and business recommendations

  • Advise on the secure enablement of generative AI solutions including Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, and Azure AI Foundry

  • Design practical approaches for data boundary enforcement, labeling, data loss prevention, and prompt‑safety controls

  • Review identity and access models for AI workloads, including MFA, Conditional Access, privileged identity management, and just‑in‑time access

  • Recommend monitoring, auditing, and incident response strategies for AI misuse, abuse, or data leakage

  • Present findings, risks, and prioritized next steps to IT and business leaders with clear business and regulatory implications

Work model:

We strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a remote position open to qualified applicants in Canada. Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a healthy work‑life balance through our wellbeing programs.

What you need to have to be considered:

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud security, compliance, or security architecture, ideally within enterprise environments

  • Proven experience advising enterprise customers on the secure adoption of Microsoft 365 and AI workloads, including Copilot, Copilot Studio, and AI Foundry

  • Deep hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Fabric governance, AI Foundry, and Microsoft 365 administration

  • Practical experience with Microsoft Entra, Defender for Cloud Apps, and Azure Policy for security and governance enforcement

  • Strong understanding of responsible AI principles, privacy by design, and regulatory alignment (GDPR, ISO, NIST)

  • Demonstrated ability to lead short, outcome-driven consulting engagements and communicate effectively with senior leaders

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex security and governance concepts

These will help you stand out:

  • Prior consulting or customer-facing experience with a major Microsoft partner

  • Familiarity with AI governance frameworks, model risk management, and data-driven decisioning

  • Working knowledge of Azure AI, AI Foundry, and Microsoft Fabric security and compliance configurations

  • Experience developing RACI models, acceptable-use policies, or AI risk registers

  • Exposure to FinOps or cost optimization practices within Microsoft 365 and Azure environments

Required certifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC‑100)

  • Microsoft Certified: Information Protection Administrator (SC‑401)

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ‑500)

Bonus:

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate (AI‑102) or equivalent

We’re excited to meet professionals who are passionate about secure and responsible AI adoption and can deliver measurable impact in a client-facing consulting environment.
