Cognizant Secure AI Architect in Mississauga,ON-W Credit Av, Ontario
About the role
As a Secure AI Architect, you will make an impact by helping organizations confidently adopt AI through secure, compliant, and well-governed foundations. You will be a valued member of client-facing delivery teams, working collaboratively with technical and executive stakeholders to assess AI readiness, identify risk and control gaps, and define pragmatic governance and security approaches for AI at scale.
This role focuses on short, high-impact consulting engagements—typically 1–2 days—where you will bridge security architecture, compliance, data governance, and responsible AI within Microsoft’s cloud and AI ecosystem.
In this role, you will:
Lead customer workshops to assess AI readiness across identity, data protection, governance, and compliance
Define and articulate AI governance frameworks covering policy, access controls, data protection, and risk management
Translate security and compliance capabilities into actionable technical and business recommendations
Advise on the secure enablement of generative AI solutions including Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, and Azure AI Foundry
Design practical approaches for data boundary enforcement, labeling, data loss prevention, and prompt‑safety controls
Review identity and access models for AI workloads, including MFA, Conditional Access, privileged identity management, and just‑in‑time access
Recommend monitoring, auditing, and incident response strategies for AI misuse, abuse, or data leakage
Present findings, risks, and prioritized next steps to IT and business leaders with clear business and regulatory implications

What you need to have to be considered:
5+ years of experience in cloud security, compliance, or security architecture, ideally within enterprise environments
Proven experience advising enterprise customers on the secure adoption of Microsoft 365 and AI workloads, including Copilot, Copilot Studio, and AI Foundry
Deep hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Fabric governance, AI Foundry, and Microsoft 365 administration
Practical experience with Microsoft Entra, Defender for Cloud Apps, and Azure Policy for security and governance enforcement
Strong understanding of responsible AI principles, privacy by design, and regulatory alignment (GDPR, ISO, NIST)
Demonstrated ability to lead short, outcome-driven consulting engagements and communicate effectively with senior leaders
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex security and governance concepts
These will help you stand out:
Prior consulting or customer-facing experience with a major Microsoft partner
Familiarity with AI governance frameworks, model risk management, and data-driven decisioning
Working knowledge of Azure AI, AI Foundry, and Microsoft Fabric security and compliance configurations
Experience developing RACI models, acceptable-use policies, or AI risk registers
Exposure to FinOps or cost optimization practices within Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
Required certifications:
Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC‑100)
Microsoft Certified: Information Protection Administrator (SC‑401)
Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ‑500)
Bonus:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate (AI‑102) or equivalent

Salary and Other Compensation :

The annual salary for this position is between $ 120,000 - $ 140,000 CAD depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
