Smurfit Westrock Quality Inspector - Night Shift in Mississauga, Ontario

Job Summary:

The Quality inspector will assist on the production floor supporting the quality and food safety systems. This position is for the Night shift; Mon-Thurs 10:30pm-7:30am with rotation to days or afternoons as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Produce and validate labels for production

  • Verify finished skids and scan into the system

  • Verify carton labeling accuracy

  • Collect all job bags and perform final release

  • Assist in sorting activities

  • Ensure all required in process checks and operator sign offs are present

  • Perform inventory for material related to the control desk

  • File and organize retains and records both physically and electronically

  • Submit samples and colour standards as requested

  • Perform quality checks on equipment

  • Make skid tags and assist in maintaining FIFO

  • Perform internal audits and inspections such as GMP and glass and brittle plastics

  • Document any internal non-conformances and escalate issues as required

  • Log maintenance paperwork into the electronic system

  • Participate in audits including developing responses

  • Administrative tasks as assigned

  • Operate testing equipment

  • Perform final release

  • Assist in collecting data and tracking metrics

  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

▪ Ability to work in a demanding, time pressured environment with tight deadlines

▪ Experience with audits and root cause analysis

▪ Experience with quality inspecting and testing procedures

▪ Strong written, verbal and electronic skills to include training, data analysis and written reports

▪ Good computer skills with experience using MS Office (Word, Excel and PP)
