Sobeys Financial Analyst in Stellarton, Nova Scotia

Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities, and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have a Full-Time opportunity for a Financial Analyst . This role can be based out of one our main offices including: Mississauga, ON; Stellarton, Dartmouth, NS.
Role Requirements
Perform moderately complex analysis in a specific areas like business cases, capital spending, and budgeting
Review and assess cost classification (opex/capex) of spend against policy within the IT functional area
Manage project spending approvals within SAP and management reporting.
Put forward suggestions to improve functional area processes.
Provide excellent level of customer service to all levels of the business.
Complete forecasting, targeting, and budgeting process for projects.
Assist in development of performance analysis.
Prepare various ad-hoc and analytical reporting requests.
Provide business case/invoice/contract support through approval processes, ensure spend is within spend limits per business case or is supported by an approved change request.
Communicate effectively with functional area managers and employees
Analyze capital investment opportunities as required.
Perform required administrative tasks which may include running SAP reports, participating in meetings, and responding to phone and e-mail messages
Perform GL and project cost account reconciliations and account analysis.
Adhere to GAAP and CEO/ CFO Certification.
Develop and manage reports in various systems including SAP, BMR, and BW.
Special projects as assigned.

Required Experience:
An Undergraduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Certified Professional Accountant or Working towards accounting designation (CPA) considered an asset.
Previous experience working in Retail environment.
Previous SAP experience is an asset.
