Kuehne+Nagel Sea Logistics Operational Care Specialist (12 Month Contract) in Mississauga, Canada

How you create impact

The Sea Logistics Operational Care Specialist provides operational excellence, efficient and quality service. The role is key in coordinating transport activities within the Operational Care Center (OCC). This includes managing bookings with carriers, handling data entry, and preparing necessary documentation while collaborating with the Customer Care team to meet requirements. Ensuring compliance with sea transport regulations and national protocols, they also build and maintain relationships with key carriers and vendors.

  • Improve workflows and reduce waste with the process + systems team

  • Update skills and participate in training programs

  • Assist in selecting and onboarding suppliers

  • Support contract management and supplier relationships

  • Help define and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and address performance issues

  • Ensure cost-efficient supplier selection

  • Develop risk management and contingency plans

  • Use KPI dashboards to control and improve quality

  • Ensure informed decision-making across various dimensions

  • Provide timely and accurate customer information

  • Analyze KPI reports for performance improvement

  • Monitor and increase automation using the eTouch Automation dashboard

  • Confirm expected Gross Profit (GP) within 24 hours

  • Ensure timely and accurate billing with at least 95% invoice quality

  • Minimize deferrals and use appropriate Deferral & Loss Codes

  • Enter expected costs into the operating system (SeaLOG) and post to the accounting system (Acon+)

  • Coordinate with all suppliers and internal stakeholders for shipment, arranging for KN services (trucking, customs clearance) where necessary

  • Check incoming invoices, create sales invoices, managing FSL as per financial guidelines and working instructions

What we would like you to bring

  • 1+ years of experience in operations or logistics and customer service

  • High school diploma required; degree/diploma in International Business, Logistics, or related field preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong comfort using digital tools and systems

  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time‑management abilities, especially in fast‑paced environments

  • Strong communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams

  • Customer‑focused and solutions‑driven, with strong problem‑solving skills and adaptability

  • Proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous learning, improvement, and process optimization

Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
