Are you thinking about advancing your career with one of the most successful logistics organizations worldwide? Here at Kuehne+Nagel, our Mississauga, Canada Site is looking for a new Operations Manager to join our Contract Logistics team.

How you create impact

As the Operations Manager you will have responsubility for directing the daily activities of the warehouse, including labor scheduling, supervision and the proper utilization of manpower, equipment and space for the safe, high-quality and productive delivery of third-party logistics services to the client.

The RPIC / ARPIC will assist with transactions involving precursors as required (if applicable).

  • Direct the operations of the warehouse personnel to achieve outlined objectives, organize daily meetings / regular communication to establish clear, ambitious and attainable goals across operations, quality and service, QSHE, profitability, etc.

  • Develop and direct work plans to always ensure appropriate staffing levels, including long range planning of labor needs based on customer sales forecasts and Management input.

  • Together with the Distribution Center Manager, establish and ensure the execution of operational processes

  • Together with the Site Quality Manager, drive QSHE implementation and compliance for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials and inventory accuracy, and driving active safety programs.

  • Develop and direct programs to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of the facility and of all warehouse equipment, identify and pursue continuous improvement opportunities, and together with the Distribution Centre Manager implement a “lean” culture.

  • Develop, implement and direct programs to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment and property according to company policies and procedures, ensure a culture of safety throughout the organization, and monitor safety, physical security and operational metrics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

  • Continuously assess, train, coach, mentor and develop personnel both informally and through formal training programs, provide job performance-based feedback.

  • Ensure that all quality and regulatory requirements of Health Canada and other applicable authorities and client requirements are met.

  • Comply with all Quality, Health, Safety & Security programs to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment and property.

  • Comply with GMP requirements as applicable to ensure that all quality and regulatory requirements of Health Canada and other applicable authorities and client requirements are met. • Strive for continuous improvements in all facets of warehouse operations.

  • Report on operational and IT issues.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned in support of the development and execution of the company's Pharmaceutical / Healthcare strategy.

What we would like you to bring

  • 4+ years’ experience in Contract Logistics / 3PL / Distribution Centre / Warehouse environment

  • 4+ years Leadership experience in high volume, fast paced distribution center / warehouse environment

  • 2+ Years’ experience working in an automated warehouse environment

  • Ability to successfully communicate – both verbal and written

Base wage is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and dental benefits, a retirement savings plan, and tuition reimbursement.
