SUMMARY

The Inside Sales Representative plays a critical role in supporting company revenue growth by managing inbound and outbound sales activity, maintaining strong customer relationships, and providing product, pricing, and order support for new and existing customers. This position works closely with Outside Sales, Sales Management, Service, Parts, and Operations to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, timely order execution, and consistent sales support. The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales, developing product knowledge, responding to customer inquiries, preparing quotes, processing orders, and proactively following up on opportunities to support profitable growth and customer retention through inbound and outbound phone calls, emails and walk-in showroom traffic. This role serves as the first point of contact for customers seeking forklifts, material handling equipment, rentals, parts, and service solutions. The ideal candidate is comfortable on the phone, customer-focused, and able to identify needs, prepare quotes, and move opportunities through the sales process while working closely with outside sales and service teams. • Serve as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person communication.

• Handle a high volume of in-bound and outbound phone calls with prospective and existing customers, qualifying leads and identifying sales opportunities.

• Greet and assist walk-in customers at the dealership, determining equipment, rental, parts, or service needs.

• Respond promptly to customer requests for pricing, availability, specifications, and general product information.

• Proactively prepare, present, and follow up on warm leads, open quotes, and inactive customers to support order conversion, sales closure, and retention.

• Process sales orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper documentation, pricing, and delivery coordination.

• Maintain strong working relationships with customers by providing consistent communication and follow-through.

• Collaborate with Outside Sales Representatives to support territory sales efforts and customer strategies.

• Assist customers in identifying appropriate equipment solutions based on application, budget, and availability.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions, quotes, and sales activity within the CRM system.

• Address customer concerns and escalate issues as needed to ensure resolution and customer satisfaction.

• Stay informed on product lines, equipment features, benefits, and applications.

• Keep current with industry trends, competitive offerings, and new product introductions.

• Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and ongoing product education.

• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality when handling customer, pricing, and company information.

• Make prospecting calls, close leads as needed, and report communications to relevant parties.

• Meet or exceed individual sales activity and revenue goals as set by management.

Education / Additional Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sales, or a related field preferred.

• 2+ years of inside sales, customer service, or related experience preferred.

• Experience in construction, material handling, or heavy equipment industry is a plus.

• Strong verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Strong, professional, phone presence with the ability to make and handle dozens of calls per day.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

• Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.

• Basic understanding of sales processes, quoting, and order management.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced sales environment with multiple priorities.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Self-motivated, dependable, and team-oriented.

• Ability to learn technical product information and explain it clearly to customers.

Physical / Work Requirements

• Office-based position with regular phone and computer use.

• Occasional travel to customer sites or company locations as needed.

Wage Range: 62K/yr. Salary with $50 per close lead
