We are looking for a Research Engineer to help develop the next generation of additive manufacturing technologies. In this role, you will work at the forefront of innovation—exploring new hardware architectures, advanced materials, and system integration concepts that will shape future manufacturing platforms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Explore and Prototype New Technologies
Investigate emerging technologies that can advance additive manufacturing systems
Design and build experimental prototypes to evaluate new concepts
Explore new hardware architectures, materials, and system integration strategies
Stay informed on industry trends, research developments, and breakthrough technologies
Conduct Feasibility Studies and Experiments
Plan and execute experiments, simulations, and modeling activities
Evaluate new technologies, materials, and system designs
Apply engineering analysis and statistical methods to interpret results
Troubleshoot technical challenges and refine experimental approaches
Develop Testing and Validation Strategies
Create research plans, testing protocols, and validation methods
Document experimental procedures and test configurations
Maintain organized research records that support knowledge sharing and future development
Collaborate Across Engineering Disciplines
Partner with hardware, materials, software, and product teams
Participate in technical reviews and provide design feasibility input
Help transition promising research concepts into development-ready solutions
Communicate Research Findings
Analyze experimental and simulation data
Prepare technical reports summarizing insights and recommendations
Present findings to engineering teams and leadership to support data-driven decisions
Grow Cross-Disciplinary Expertise
Expand your technical knowledge beyond your primary discipline
Engage in technical training, research, and collaborative learning
Apply new knowledge to advance innovation across projects
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related technical field
3+ years of experience in research, advanced development, or applied engineering
Hands-on experience with prototyping, experimentation, and testing
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data
Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, or thermal systems relevant to hardware R&D
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with additive manufacturing, robotics, or mechatronic systems
Experience using simulation tools such as FEA, CFD, MATLAB, or COMSOL
Knowledge of advanced materials, sensors, or automation technologies
Record of patents, publications, or technical research contributions
Ability to independently investigate and solve open-ended technical challenge
