This position is responsible for the development and growth of the Distribution Modernization (DMod) business line and staff within the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Upper Midwest Region (UMW) Minneapolis Office. This role will work closely with the Operations Director, Projects Manager, and other T&D UMW managers in the region. This new management position is a dual-responsibility leadership assignment, performed in addition to current project execution duties, and will be responsible for recruiting and supervising employee-owners in the Department. Organizational
Advocate for safety within the business line and drive a culture focused on safety and compliance with company, regional and site safety policies.

Interpret and support established policies, procedures, purposes, and strategic goals for the department and T&D Global Practice to staff.
Build strong partnerships and relationships within UMW and with other offices, including the Burns & McDonnell India team.
Resource Management
Work in various recruiting channels, including but not limited to HR Recruiting team, staffing agencies, staff referrals and direct communication to proactively recruit the best candidates that align with MacCulture principles, department needs, growth strategies and business objectives and retention of staff.
Support the early careers recruiting team to drive recruiting efforts at colleges and universities.
Support the onboarding processes for interns, employee-owners and contingent workers joining the DMod department.
Coordinate team and mentor assignments of department staff in coordination with project managers and project engineers for the efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff.
Stay connected with the leaders of the teams their direct reports are a part of staying up to date on backlog and current/upcoming projects.
Support the oversight and management of chargeability and proper investments of overhead labor and costs.
Review employee performance and conduct development meetings (90-day and annual performance appraisals, mid-year reviews, coaching sessions, etc.).
Work with Human Resources and staff to identify, prepare, communicate, and monitor performance plans for employees with areas of needed improvement.
Advocate for staff by meeting regularly, listening, providing guidance and direction on setting their short- and long-term goals, and helping lead staff to opportunities to achieve stated goals.
Technical/Execution/Production
Identify training needs for the department and support/develop training programs. Collaborate with other departments and offices on shared training opportunities.
Drive a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the department. Interpret and support the implementation of corporate and T&D quality programs.
Coordinate with project teams to identify and assign quality control reviewers.
Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving problems on client projects.
Direct the development of department tools and workflows to increase efficiency in designs, and project execution.
Serve in key project support roles for identified clients and/or new clients where required, and where new business is being developed.
Business Line Support
Assist in developing and achieving T&D UMW strategic priorities. Coordinate with senior leadership to align focus on efforts that mutually support T&D UMW and Dmod business line strategic priorities.
Support in the development and execution of the business line plan.
Assist with and/or lead proposal and pursuit efforts.
Support business development managers and account managers as the Dmod technical resources on strategic client conversations, presentations and relationships.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction or a related field from an accredited program is required.
Minimum 5 years of related professional experience is required.
Previous leadership experience is preferred.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills, and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management and clients.
Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, collaboration, organization and critical thinking skills.
The ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.
Strong planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Professional Engineering licensure preferred.
Previous consulting experience preferred.
Compensation
$100,000.00-300,000.00 Yearly
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
