Position: Wind Turbine Assembler - 1st Shift

Primary Objective of Position:
A Wind Turbine Assembler / Mechanical Technician plays a crucial role in the assembly of front and rear nacelles. In this position, you will be tasked with assembling fabricated parts at designated floor stations. Utilize your skills in handling mechanical components and employ a variety of pneumatic hand tools and power tools to construct high-quality nacelle units efficiently.
Major Areas of Accountability:
Operate manufacturing equipment with a focus on safety and efficiency.
Efficiently assemble components utilizing both hand and power tools.
Interpret schematics, drawings and work orders to accurately assembly components.
Follow process, work instructions and shop standards ensuring parts are assembled properly by design and sequence.
Achieve production standards for various tasks within the allotted time frame.
Handling of materials by lifting, positioning, and/or removing them from the work area as needed using jib cranes, fork trucks, and overhead cranes.
Demonstrates a commitment to Continuous Improvement by identifying opportunities in day-to-day work.
Tests, inspects and completes necessary Quality and Customer documentation to ensure they meet our quality standards.
Collaborate with fellow Wind Team members to construct the final product.
Works in other areas of the Wind Team skills matrix, may prepare and paint product, procure lumber, shipping cartons, shipping supplies and tools. May prepare and package shipments in boxes, skids/crates.
Demonstrates a commitment to Continuous Improvement by identifying opportunities in day-to-day work.
Performs to ISO 9001 Quality Standards and abides to OSHA and EPA regulations.
Knowledge/ Skills/Abilities:
High School degree or GED or equivalent manufacturing experience preferred.
Strong Mechanical Aptitude
Familiarity with standard power and hand tools.
Ability to be certified in overhead and Jib crane operation and forklift operation.
Ability to effectively communicate and work in small teams to assemble product
Ability to read and follow written instructions in English.
Physical Requirements:
Routinely lifts and moves objects up to 20 lbs.
Occasionally lifts and moves objects up to 50 lbs.
Routinely ascends/descends ladders and stairs.
Occasionally works at heights or on platforms.
Occasionally positions self in various works spaces, including low, tight or confined spaces.
Routinely remains in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
Routinely uses repetitive motions including the wrists, hands or fingers to operate hand and power tools.
Routinely moves from one work station to another to accomplish tasks.
Salary:
1st Shift salary range $18.00 hourly to $23.00 hourly
Will compensate with experience. Position is full-time.
Pay Types
Voluntary weekend overtime.
Saturday is paid at time and a half, Sundays are paid at double time!
