Job Title: TIG Welder | Weekly Pay

Job Description

Join a small, clean, and organized job shop as a TIG Welder on a steady first shift schedule. You will primarily perform high-quality TIG welding on aluminum parts, with occasional work on steel and minimal MIG welding. In addition to welding, you will support general fabrication tasks to help ensure parts meet quality standards and customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG welding on aluminum parts as the primary responsibility, ensuring strong, clean, and precise welds.

  • Occasionally perform TIG and MIG welding on steel parts as needed.

  • Interpret and work from blueprints to complete welds and fabrication tasks accurately.

  • Grind and deburr parts to remove imperfections and prepare components for final use or further processing.

  • Assist with general fabrication duties and shop tasks as required to support production.

  • Inspect completed welds and parts for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow shop safety procedures at all times.

  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of jobs.

Essential Skills

  • TIG welding experience, preferably 5 or more years of professional or hobby welding.

  • Proficiency in TIG welding on aluminum parts.

  • Ability to perform occasional TIG and MIG welding on steel.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

  • Skill in grinding and deburring metal parts.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work area.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in a job shop or fabrication environment.

  • Comfort supporting a variety of fabrication tasks beyond welding.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.

Work Environment

This role is based in a smaller, clean, and organized job shop with approximately 15–20 people, fostering a close-knit and collaborative atmosphere. The schedule is a first shift, Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime rarely required and typically only on Fridays when needed. The shop maintains a laid-back culture with approachable leadership and coworkers. Work involves hands-on welding and fabrication using TIG and MIG equipment, grinders, and standard fabrication tools in a well-maintained facility.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $29.00/hr.
