In-Person Attendance Requirement:
Candidates must be located within reasonable commuting distance and able to adjust their schedule as needed to support regular, often daily, in-person collaboration. while the primary office can be remote, a desk at an office could be provided to meet candidate preference
The salary range for this position is at $79,000 - $105,000. We take into consideration an individual’s background and experience in determining salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of other benefits and earned time off that vary depending on part-time or full-time status.
Job Summary:
The Senior Project Manager collaborates across the organization to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and ensure components of the project management life cycle are applied effectively while integrating change management best practices. This role supports strategy-to-execution alignment by facilitating clarity on priorities, structuring work for execution, and enabling adoption across departments. Serve as a leader in advancing project management practices across the organization, contributing to the development and continuous improvement of standards, tools, and approaches. Operate through influence rather than direct authority, working with leaders and teams to advance initiatives and strengthen organizational execution.
Essential Functions:
Participate on the organization’s project evaluation team, supporting intake, discovery, business case development, and initiative vetting by clarifying scope, dependencies, risks, readiness, and alignment to strategic priorities.
Lead transformational strategic projects and utilize project management best practices and tools across the project management life cycle .to ensure delivery of defined scope, schedule, and budget while maintaining visibility to intended outcomes and adoption considerations.
Provide leadership across project teams by guiding, coordinating, and driving alignment among cross-functional contributors.
Serve as a leader in advancing project management best practices and execution discipline, through the development, standardization, and continuous improvement of approaches that strengthen organizational consistency and delivery effectiveness.
Support leaders and teams in applying project management best practices by sharing tools, and approaches and guidance across initiatives.
Leverage change management methodologies and tools throughout the project management life cycle to support adoption, reinforce positive culture, and enable effective cross-team collaboration among internal and external stakeholders.
Partner with department leaders and cross-functional team members to prioritize, define, and advance initiatives, supporting clarity on sequencing, dependencies, and tradeoffs to enable effective execution.
Collaborate with other project management leaders to align priorities, share insights, and promote consistency in project management approach and execution.
Support execution visibility by contributing to shared updates, reporting, or forums that help leaders monitor progress, risks, and cross-initiative impacts.
Other projects and duties as assigned.
- Relationships:
This position reports to the Associate Vice President of insights and Partnerships who reports to the Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. The incumbent collaborates with branch and/or program leaders as well as with the internal team and consultants. The incumbent represents the Association to external partnerships, vendors, and peer institutions.
- Qualifications:
Required
Bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership or business administration.
Five (5) years of experience successfully implementing high level projects.
Five (5) years of experience leading cross-functional teams through change using a collaborative leadership style with the ability to motivate, inspire and influence others to achieve results.
Working knowledge of project and change management technology, tools, methodologies, and best practices.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate to diverse audiences including VPs, C-level execs, on-site teams, and partners.
Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects while paying strict attention to detail.
Preferred
Master’s degree in organizational leadership or business administration.
Bi/multilingual.
- Work Conditions:
Must be able to work on a computer for extended periods of time.
Travel to various YMCA sites throughout the Twin Cities and remote camps.
Ability to respond to emergency situations after normal business hours.
