Our goal is to discover ways to therapeutically target aging, which will extend healthspan. Primary responsibilities: Specific technical/bench-work research (60%): - Mouse handling, including ip injections, and tissue harvest. - Sample prep and analysis for flow cytometry or western blot - Independent data analysis and presentation of final results - Keep detailed records of all experiments and procedures in laboratory notebooks, databases, spreadsheets, and web-based applications. General laboratory management duties (30%): - Experiment preparation including reagent or buffer prep, and labeling. - Follow established biological, chemical and physical safety procedures Other duties as assigned (10%): - General organization or cleaning tasks - Requires the ability to work occasional weekend hours Qualifications All required qualifications must be included in the application materials Required: - BA/BS or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four years - Willingness to handle mice and work under ABSL2 conditions. - Experience in pipetting, harvesting of mouse organs and basic laboratory techniques Preferred: - Experience in tissue culture work - Good interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills; comfort in working in a team - Excellence in organizational skills Pay and Benefits Pay Range: $20-23/hr; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
