The ideal candidate will investigate the complex landscape of virus-host interactions, specifically utilizing mass spectrometry-based proteomics to identify host factors essential for EBV persistence. Our goal is to uncover novel therapeutic targets for EBV eradication and the treatment of associated malignancies. Key Responsibilities Lead independent research projects focused on EBV maintenance and oncogenesis. Design and execute mass spectrometry experiments to map viral-host protein interactomes. Validate candidate host factors using a variety of molecular and cellular biology techniques. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to translate findings into potential therapeutic strategies. Qualifications Required Qualifications Education: A Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Virology, Oncology, or a closely related field. Technical Expertise: Proficiency in core molecular techniques, including molecular cloning, immunoprecipitation (IP), cell culture, immunofluorescence (IF), qRT-PCR, Western blotting, and CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing. Scientific Proficiency: A proven track record of independent experimental design, troubleshooting, and data analysis. Publication Record: First-author publications in peer-reviewed journals within the fields of virology or tumor virology are highly desired. Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly. Motivation: A strong interest in learning and applying mass spectrometry-based proteomics to virology.
