The Specialist manages sophisticated requests, identifies data errors, and solves issues using strong working knowledge and understanding of University-wide and unit-specific procedures as needed. The Specialist partners closely with Workforce Data Coordinators and serves as the point of contact for their complex issues. Job Duties Data Processing (67%) * Reviews HR data requests for alignment to policy and established procedures. * Updates job data, position management and other related areas within PeopleSoft HR with accuracy and meeting established timelines (entering employee hires and job reclassifications, entering compensation changes, processing terminations, updating job labor information, etc.). * Processes a fast-paced workload of data requests while maintaining data integrity within our HR system. * Maintains connection between job data and other HR areas such as payroll and benefits. Professional Development (10%) * Completes professional development, education, and training activities, consistent with managing the responsibilities of the position. Completes continued learning and development appropriate to work duties and for the pursuit of individual, campus/unit, and institutional success. * Participates in staff development based on individual need including ongoing skills training, DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) development, professional learning, service & scholarly activity, and engagement & well-being. * As an individual contributor, models the University of Minnesota's dedication to crafting an inclusive work environment and encouraging a supportive culture. Auditing, Data Cleanup, Data Entry Projects (7%) * Maintains data integrity by performing routine audits for position management and job data entry. * Assists with data cleanup projects (salary grade updates, Reports To) and other data entry projects (retro salary increases, step realignments, market refinements). Query & Data Analysis (7%) * Uses query tools as needed to run ad hoc queries for problem solving, finding incorrect data, and analysis. * Analyzes data to understand the reason(s) or timing for incorrect entry, and if there are policy or process implications. * Recommends process improvements and updates to training materials or outreach opportunities to their supervisor using data analysis. Collaboration (4%) * Works with Position Managers to resolve any issues with the newly created position. * Works with new and existing Position Managers to provide guidance and support as needed in their role. * Resolves problems, ensures data accuracy, and provides guidance on standard processes by establishing a working relationship with campus/unit end users and Position Managers. Other duties as assigned (5%) Qualifications Qualifications Required: * BA/BS degree, or a combination of education and/or experience to equal at least four years. Preferred: * Ability to foster and maintain inclusive, effective relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds within, across, and outside of the University. * Experience working in an HRIS product. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Familiarity with human resource policies and procedures to ensure HRIS meets organizational needs and goals. * Good interpersonal and technical support skills. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
