Summary
The Finishing Supervisor is responsible for executing the company's goals and objectives to meet deadlines in the most effective and efficient manner. They are responsible for the continual assessment of production processes to ensure the team is operating at the highest level of speed and quality to meet client expectations. The supervisor ensures all team members are knowledgeable of the finishing goals/objectives and are actively engaged to ensure they are being met.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Ensures and enforces safety requirements and documentation
Responsible for daily production and work schedules to ensure that work is completed on-time and within quality standards
Proactively notifies other departments/managers of work delays, missed deadlines, etc.
Responsible for inventory accuracy within the department
Ensures equipment is maintained and submits new-equipment requests for review
Responsible for hiring, termination, discipline and performance management including daily approval of employee timecards
Responsible for production layout of physical workstations for maximum workflow efficiency
Acts as a change agent and drives out waste throughout the manufacturing operation
Provides flexibility to other departments and areas as required by the business
Fosters a culture that values family, innovation, collaboration and empowerment

Education/Certification
2 year technical/business degree or equivalent experience (four-year degree preferred)
Experience
3-5 years finishing experience with prior leadership responsibilities in a production/manufacturing environment or similar
Experience providing daily work direction to hourly/shift workers
Knowledge or experience with manufacturing information systems (forecasting, MRP, SPC, labor, costing)
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Walking, sitting, bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs. may be required throughout the workday.
