Job Title: Facilities Project Manager

Job Description

The Facility Engineer is responsible for executing and delivering annual capital expenditure (CapEx) projects across a diverse facility portfolio, supporting both administrative and manufacturing environments. This role manages the full project lifecycle—from early design and vendor bidding through construction, commissioning, and closeout—ensuring infrastructure improvements are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality and safety standards. This position is heavily focused on infrastructure and building systems, with projects commonly valued up to $2M, including HVAC, steam systems, boilers, chillers, electrical upgrades, building additions, and major renovations. The role functions as a technically strong project manager, requiring hands-on knowledge of building infrastructure and the ability to independently drive multiple concurrent projects.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the annual CapEx plan, managing multiple infrastructure projects across six facilities in administrative and manufacturing environments.

  • Manage full project lifecycle from design through construction, commissioning, and closeout.

  • Develop RFPs and Invitations to Bid, review proposals, select vendors, and onboard contractors.

  • Conduct site walkthroughs, review shop drawings/RFIs/change orders, and perform quality and safety inspections.

  • Coordinate work to minimize disruption to ongoing operations.

  • Track budgets and schedules, proactively addressing risks and cost impacts.

  • Provide regular project and capital spend updates to stakeholders.

  • Manage closeout activities including punch lists, as-builts, warranties, and final turnover.

  • Work independently while coordinating with peer project managers.

  • Provide infrastructure-focused technical leadership within a team largely focused on commercial interior projects.

  • Support a portfolio of approximately 48 active projects alongside two project managers.

Work Environment

Work Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in a flexible work environment, with the option to work from a downtown Minneapolis office. This role supports 3-4 locations in the Twin Cities, as well as locations in Menomonie, WI, and Aberdeen, SD. Expect light to moderate travel based on project needs.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
