Description:
SPS Commerce is a leading provider of cloud-based supply chain management solutions, serving a global network of retail trading partners. We foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment where innovation and continuous improvement are highly valued. Join SPS Commerce and be part of a dynamic team that's transforming the global retail supply chain!
Position Summary:
Marketing at SPS Commerce is evolving and this is your chance to be part of something big. As our business scales and our global reach expands, we’re building a marketing organization that does more than create awareness; we drive demand, deepen relationships, and deliver measurable impact across every stage of the customer journey.
We’ve reimagined how we work, combining functional expertise with deep customer insight. Our team is structured around key areas like Brand, Demand Generation, and Product Marketing, and we collaborate through cross-functional pods focused on distinct customer segments - from Retailers and Brands to Revenue Recovery & Analytics.
SPS Commerce is seeking a Director of Ecosystem Marketing to lead and scale our partner marketing function at a pivotal moment of growth. In this senior individual contributor and cross-functional leadership role, you will own the strategy and execution of marketing programs that drive measurable pipeline through SPS’s ecosystem of software publishers, value-added resellers (VARs), affiliates, and network partners.
This is a high-impact role for a marketer who thinks strategically, executes with urgency, and knows how to build partner relationships that generate real business results. You will operate at the intersection of partner development, demand generation, and field marketing—crafting co-marketing programs that extend SPS’s reach, establish us as the preferred partner across our ecosystem, and accelerate revenue growth.
What You’ll Do:
Partner Marketing
Develop and Execute Partner Marketing Strategy
• Build and lead end-to-end marketing programs with our ecosystem of partners including but not limited to software publishers, VARs, affiliates, and network partners that expand SPS’s reach across the retail supply chain. • Define the ecosystem marketing vision, set measurable goals, and establish the programs and frameworks needed to position SPS as the preferred partner in key ecosystems and marketplaces. • Translate business objectives into actionable marketing initiatives that align with SPS’s overall go-to-market strategy and revenue priorities. • Track, report, and continuously optimize ecosystem marketing performance using data-driven insights, ensuring programs deliver strong ROI and clear attribution to pipeline.Drive Joint Pipeline Generation
• Collaborate closely with SPS partner teams and field marketing to design and execute co-branded campaigns, events, and webinars that increase lead volume and accelerate deal velocity. • Develop targeted demand generation programs with key partners that move prospects through the funnel faster and improve close rates on co-influenced opportunities. • Build strong relationships with partner marketing counterparts to ensure campaigns are prioritized, well-resourced, and activated effectively on both sides. • Establish joint pipeline reporting and shared KPIs with partner stakeholders, creating transparency and accountability for mutual business outcomes.Build Scalable Co-Marketing Programs
• Design and implement repeatable joint marketing motions including coordinated campaigns, co-created content, digital activations, and integrated communications that scale efficiently across multiple partner relationships. • Develop tiered program structures that allow SPS to invest appropriately across strategic, growth, and emerging partner segments. • Create content and campaign templates that enable partners to activate co-marketing independently while maintaining SPS brand standards and messaging consistency. • Leverage digital channels, partner portals, and marketplace placements to maximize the visibility and reach of joint marketing programs.Elevate Partner Awareness and Advocacy
• Strengthen SPS’s visibility and credibility within partner ecosystems and marketplaces through consistent, compelling storytelling and shared success narratives. • Develop and amplify joint thought leadership—including co-authored content, speaking opportunities, case studies, and partner spotlights—that reinforces SPS’s market leadership. • Curate and scale partner success stories that demonstrate tangible value for customers, partners, and prospects alike. • Champion the SPS brand within partner communities, ensuring SPS is top-of-mind when partners evaluate ecosystem investments and referral opportunities.Coordinate Enablement and Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Serve as the primary marketing liaison between SPS’s internal marketing teams and external partner counterparts, ensuring alignment on strategy, messaging, and execution timelines. • Develop scalable partner marketing playbooks, asset libraries, and engagement frameworks that empower both internal teams and partners to execute efficiently. • Work cross-functionally with product marketing, demand generation, content, and brand teams to deliver integrated programs that are consistent in messaging and impactful in market.Customer Marketing
Champion the Customer Voice
• Ensure every major marketing initiative includes a data-driven customer story, developing case studies, testimonials, videos, and customer-led sessions that showcase measurable business impact. • Partner closely with product marketing, sales, and customer success teams to identify and develop compelling customer narratives that resonate across the buyer’s journey and partner channels. • Build a library of customer proof points and success metrics that can be leveraged across campaigns, sales enablement, partner co-marketing, and executive communications.Build and Scale Advocacy Programs
• Launch and manage customer reference, advocacy, and speaker programs to activate champions for peer referrals, thought leadership, and co-marketing campaigns. • Develop a tiered advocacy framework that identifies, recruits, and nurtures customer champions at various stages of engagement. • Measure and report on advocacy program health, including reference availability, NPS participation, and the downstream pipeline and revenue impact.Drive Customer Engagement in Events
• Lead customer participation strategy across SPS events, user groups, webinars, and industry forums, coordinating speaking opportunities and success spotlights that reinforce brand credibility and trust. • Collaborate with the events and demand generation teams to integrate customer voices into flagship conferences, partner summits, and digital programming throughout the year.Lead Research and Insight Programs
• Oversee customer surveys, user groups, roundtables, and feedback loops to capture customer sentiment and surface insights that inform program design, messaging, and retention strategies. • Synthesize research findings into actionable insights that are shared across marketing, product, and customer success teams. • Use research outputs to continuously improve advocacy and community programs, ensuring SPS stays closely attuned to customer needs, market trends, and competitive dynamics.Foster Community and Connection
• Plan and execute customer community experiences including advisory boards, executive dinners, meetups, and online networks that deepen relationships, encourage advocacy, and inspire long-term loyalty. • Design community touchpoints that create meaningful peer connections among SPS customers, fostering an environment where customers learn from each other, share best practices, and amplify the value of the SPS network. • Develop scalable frameworks for community programming that can grow alongside SPS’s customer base, with clear ownership, governance, and success metrics tied to retention and advocacy outcomes.Where You’ll Work:
This role can be remote or hybrid, depending on location. Hybrid candidates (Minneapolis, MN or Rogers, AR) follow a flexible in-office model that balances collaboration and remote work. Occasional travel (15%) is required for onboarding, training, leadership meetings, and customer visits.
What You’ll Bring

• Experience in retail, supply chain, logistics, or commerce technology strongly preferred. • Familiarity with partner relationship management (PRM) platforms, marketing automation tools (e.g., Marketo, HubSpot), and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce). • Experience developing partner marketing programs within marketplace ecosystems (e.g., AWS, Salesforce AppExchange, NetSuite). • Background working in a high-growth, publicly traded SaaS company. • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA a plus. What We Offer:
