One of the major American airlines is looking for a Database Administrator to join their Hybrid team in Minneapolis, MN!
This role is an exciting opportunity to design, implement, and support enterprise-standard database environments that power critical business systems. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in database architecture, performance tuning, backup and recovery strategies, and cross-functional collaboration with application and infrastructure teams.
Contract Duration: 12-Month Contract with the opportunity for extension or conversion
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a technical/scientific field with 5+ years of IT experience, or 3+ years of focused database administration
Strong experience with relational database design, implementation, and support
Hands-on experience installing and maintaining DBMS platforms
Knowledge of logical/physical data modeling and data warehouse concepts
Experience with database monitoring, performance tuning, and backup/recovery
Familiarity with operating systems, networking, and application environment
What You Will Be Doing
Daily Responsibilities
Translate logical models and user requirements into physical database designs
Build and maintain database environments across dev, test, and production
Install, configure, and support DBMS software
Partner with system engineers and application teams on database needs
Monitor performance, implement tuning, and manage backup/recovery
Troubleshoot and resolve database issues
Support change implementations and planned downtime
Participate in 24x7 on-call database support
