We are hiring a Controls Systems Engineer to work onsite in Minnesota. The role involves developing and implementing control systems with a focus on genset control systems. The engineer will utilize their application knowledge and expertise in the systems V diagram phases to enhance system performance and safety.
Responsibilities
Understand and apply genset control systems high-level application knowledge.
Utilize the systems V diagram phases for control systems development.
Gather requirements through use cases and interviews.
Review existing designs and create comprehensive system approach documents for updates.
Update system/SW design documentation, including baseboard control system and HMI interface updates.
Conduct Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) reviews to ensure safety and robustness.
Coordinate updates with cross-functional teams for implementation.
Design and execute test plans to verify system designs are implemented correctly.
Analyze and log test results, coordinating fixes and retesting as needed.
Perform requirements-level systems testing on machine/genset to verify performance.
Ensure safe machine operations and testing, considering live 480V environments.
Create and track project schedules, escalating issues as necessary.
Collaborate with a global team across different time zones.
Maintain thorough documentation and communicate effectively, ensuring clarity and alignment.
Essential Skills
Experience with control systems and machinery control system development.
Proficiency in using the systems V diagram for development.
Strong project management skills, including scheduling and tracking tasks.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional and global teams.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with FMEA, HMI, and document management systems.
Ability to work with potentially live 480V systems safely.
Flexible time zone alignment for collaboration with teams in Minnesota and India.
Work Environment
This role requires working onsite in Minnesota, as it involves hands-on testing that cannot be conducted remotely. The work environment includes collaboration with global teams and requires flexibility in time zone alignment. Safety considerations are paramount, especially when testing systems with high voltage.

This is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $58.00/hr.
