Job Title: Level 3 Catheter Builder

Job Description

This role focuses on building complex catheter assemblies from start to finish within a cleanroom environment. You will follow detailed work instructions and production drawings to perform full catheter builds, including electromechanical assembly and wire-to-wire soldering for direct imaging catheters. The position requires precise work under a microscope, careful documentation, and thorough visual inspection to ensure high-quality medical device assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Read and follow detailed work instructions, production drawings, and work orders to complete catheter assemblies and sub-assemblies.

  • Perform full catheter builds from start to finish, including liner stretching, bonding, annealing, braiding, reflow, stringing, and related processes.

  • Build catheter assemblies designed for direct imaging, including electromechanical assembly tasks as required.

  • Conduct wire-to-wire soldering as part of catheter and sub-assembly builds.

  • Work consistently within a cleanroom environment, adhering to all cleanliness and contamination-control procedures.

  • Use microscopes to assemble and inspect very small components and features of the catheter assemblies.

  • Operate and handle small hand tools and measuring devices, including micrometers, to ensure accurate dimensions and tolerances.

  • Perform visual inspections of assemblies and components to verify quality and conformance to specifications.

  • Document work accurately in travelers, quality management systems (QMS), or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

  • Complete final packaging of catheters in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.

  • Communicate effectively with team members and leadership to clarify instructions, report issues, and support continuous improvement.

  • Maintain a high level of patience, diligence, and attention to detail while working with very small parts and intricate assemblies.

Essential Skills

  • 3–4 years of experience in catheter assembly from start to finish, including full catheter build processes such as liner stretching, bonding, annealing, braiding, reflow, stringing, and use of micrometers for measuring.

  • Proven experience performing catheter assembly in a cleanroom environment.

  • Ability to build catheter assemblies and sub-assemblies using microscopes and small hand tools.

  • Experience working with direct imaging catheters and related electromechanical assembly tasks.

  • Ability to perform wire-to-wire soldering for medical device assemblies.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to read work orders, follow production drawings, and receive instructions.

  • Ability to document work accurately in travelers, QMS systems, or ERP systems.

  • High level of hand dexterity and fine motor skills to work with very small components, both under a microscope and without magnification.

  • Demonstrated patience, diligence, and attention to detail in precision assembly work.

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Preferably experience with balloon catheter building, including related specialized processes.

  • Experience in medical device assembly, particularly catheter or guidewire assembly in a cleanroom setting.

  • Comfort using microscopes for extended periods to perform detailed assembly and inspection tasks.

  • Familiarity with documentation and traceability requirements in regulated manufacturing environments.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented production setting.

  • Willingness to work within established procedures while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility with a well-appointed break room and modern equipment. Work is performed primarily in a cleanroom environment, requiring adherence to cleanroom protocols and appropriate attire suitable for medical device assembly. The position follows a first-shift schedule, Monday through Thursday, from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The daily schedule includes a 30-minute paid break, a 30-minute unpaid lunch, and a 15-minute paid break, supporting a structured and predictable workday. The environment is collaborative and team-oriented, with frequent company-hosted events such as lunches, cultural-specific meals, barbecues, and other gatherings designed to foster a strong sense of community and engagement. The facility supports precision work with microscopes, small hand tools, and measurement devices, enabling consistent, high-quality catheter production. This posting covers Level 3 and Level 4 opportunities within the catheter building team.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
