Job Title: Assembly Mechanic
Job Description
As an Assembly Mechanic, you will work on the assembly line to build and assemble mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components of paving and construction equipment. You will also build custom equipment based on blueprint and schematic specifications. Your tasks will include assembling frames, building axles, installing motors, air conditioning, and electrical harnesses. You will utilize various tools such as click wrenches, torque wrenches, ratchets, pneumatic pulse tools, and others, ensuring all tools and fixtures are properly calibrated for the job. Your role will be crucial in inspecting all equipment to meet shop standards and coordinating work to meet changing production schedules.
Responsibilities
Assemble mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components of equipment.
Build custom equipment following blueprint and schematic specifications.
Utilize and calibrate various tools including torque and click wrenches.
Inspect equipment to ensure conformity with shop standards.
Collaborate with team members and support personnel.
Coordinate work to meet production schedules and address discrepancies.
Essential Skills
Proficiency with blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
Understanding of torque patterns, O-Rings, and metric system.
2+ years experience in heavy equipment assembly or as a mechanic.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Certified trade school or degree in a related area is a plus.
Automotive technology degree holders without experience are considered.
Experience in auto, aviation, or military mechanics is preferred.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of MINNEAPOLIS, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr.
