Robert Half Accounting Manager in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead core general ledger activities and support a growing organization. This role is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented accounting specialist who can guide a team, strengthen close processes, and ensure accurate financial reporting in a dynamic environment. The position offers strong long-term potential for someone who wants to contribute to a business preparing for its next phase of growth.

Responsibilities:

• Lead daily general ledger operations and oversee the accuracy and completeness of accounting records.

• Manage the month-end close process, ensuring timelines are met and financial results are reported reliably.

• Supervise and develop accounting team members, providing direction, coaching, and workload oversight.

• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation to maintain strong financial controls.

• Coordinate audit preparation and serve as a key contact for external auditors during financial statement reviews.

• Monitor account activity, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies across balance sheet and income statement accounts.

• Maintain and improve accounting procedures within SAP to support efficient reporting and compliance.

• Partner with finance leadership on initiatives tied to organizational growth and public-company readiness. Requirements • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility.

• Strong expertise in general ledger management and month-end close activities.

• Experience preparing and reviewing account reconciliations and journal entries.

• Background supporting financial statement audits and working with external auditors.

• Proficiency with SAP and familiarity with accounting systems and reporting tools.

• Demonstrated ability to lead a team and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

• Solid understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements.
